BIRDS SEEN AT NORTH BOURNEMOUTH ALLOTMENTS

Kindly supplied by Alan Thrift – Plot 105.   If you see anything of interest, please let me (Roger Whitehead) or Alan Thrift know.   I am afraid that I would be hard put to recognise about half of the birds on Alan’s list.   How about you?

Birds Name Seen on site at:

Blackbirds  Male and Female still collecting food for second brood young.

Buzzards Seen flying at high level over the site.

Black Headed Gulls Flying over and around the site.

Blue Tits & Great Tits Seen in the trees at top end of site and also at the Columbia road end.

Carrion Crow Top car park south-eastern end.

Green Finch Male and Female in Hawthorn hedge on the eastern boarder

Green Woodpecker Feeding on ants on the grass paths between the plots.

Gold Finches Feeding on grass seed by plot 100F.

Herring Gulls Flying over and around the site.

Hedge Sparrows Under fruit bushes plot 105.

House Sparrows  In hedge on eastern Border.

Jay Seen flying across the site, it sometimes buries acorns for winter food.

Magpies and young on Plots 178 -179 & 180.

Pied Wagtail On the car park near the clubhouse.

Robins  Off and On most plots.

Sparrow Hawk Female In the trees by plots 180-190.

Starling with young Sat on fence by main gate.

Wood Pigeon Pays a visit to most plots.

Wren By raised beds.
