How to Apply for a Plot at NBAS

HOW TO APPLY TO GO ON THE ALLOTMENT SITE WAITING LIST

If you wish to apply to go on the waiting list you will need to apply in person at the site.  Applications may be made on-site on a Saturday or Sunday morning between 10.00 & 11.30 hours except over Christmas and New Year..

The main site gates are always open at this time and if you go to the shop, located in the main building in the centre of the allotments, someone will be available to show you the sizes of plots, answer any other questions you may have and give you a short application form to fill in.   It should take you about 15 – 30 minutes, no appointment is necessary.

We have no vacant Plots at the moment, but our waiting list is open.  I cannot really give you a clear idea of how long you would have to wait as the number of members leaving each year is very flexible.   At a guess, it will be a 12 to 18 months wait.

We have full size, three quarter and half size plots plus a very small number of small raised beds for people with disabilities or mobility problems; you can go onto a maximum of two waiting lists, i.e. both full and half plot list.   You would be offered which ever sized Plot became available first.

At the moment a full plot cost £36 per year, a three quarter plot £27 and a half plot £19 per year and a raised bed is £4, a £30 returnable bond is payable when you are given a plot, this is returned when you leave, subject to the plot being in good condition.   The only other costs would be for a site gate key and restroom key, we charge a £3.50 deposit on each of these keys.

Apart from paying, the rent and keeping the plot properly cultivated the other main requirement for membership is that you are and remain a resident of the Borough of Bournemouth.      You can apply any Saturday or Sunday

If I can help you in any other way please do not hesitate to contact me at nabsoc@gmail.com by post to the Secretary at the above address or by using the metal post box fixed by the main gate.

If you are uncertain how to get to the site directions and a map are available on the Website Contact & Finding us page.    Cornelia Road is a new road with recently built houses, located off Priestley Road.
